If the meeting cannot be scheduled until after the new year,
Councilmember Peterson will take Mayor Gilbertson's place on the
Committee. Schedule such meeting. Meeting was held with
Hardin.

Christmas Tree Lot signs were discussed. The Council talked about
having the Planning Comrnission review the sign ordinance as it relates to
seasonal, etc. As discussion ensued, it appeared the consensus of the
Council was that this would be a good discussion for the workshop.
Councilmember Zimmerman stated he felt that with regard to Christmas
Tree farms, the signs should pertain more to the directional rather than to
the price of the trees.

Councilmember Peterson requested information on why it's 600' for cul-
de-sac length - From a planning standpoint - should we keep it at that -
what's the mason for it He would also like input from public works
people and emergency people.

The Planning Commission voted to recommend that City Council approve
the proposed site plan for North Lake Properties multi-tenant mt,ail facility
based upon discussion and contingent upon compliance with City Staff
Review Letter dated June 1, 1995 and any recommendations from
Mn/DOT. Forward to City Council. Applicant requested tabling.

Council adopted the policy entitled "Provisions for Temporary Structures
in Emergency Situations". They also adopted the resolution establishing a
financial guarantee in the amount of $500 for emergency temporary
structure permits and directed that the permit form be amended to verify
that the temporary structure is up to building code standards. Review with
Glyn Huff to ascerta/n that this verbiage is adequate. Get the policy and
permit form to Admin for processing.

The Planning Commission was directed to perform an overall review of
Chapter 9 of the City Code since they are presently dealing with two
sections in that chapter. If the Planning Commission feels any major
revisions are necessary, they are to return to City Council for discussion.

Council approved Bernie Vevea's request for an extension to his 1991 site
plan for the expansion of Ve-Ve, Inc. The extension is good to September
30, 1996. Note: Mayor Hardin noted the items you brought up that would
not be approved if the site plan were before Council today and inquired of
lVIr. Vevea if he would be open to discussion. He offered to discuss
anything the City wants to discuss and that Ryan has to recommend.
