Motion by Mayor Gilbertson and seconded by Councilmember Hardin to direct Staff to <br />prepare a feasibility study for the construction of segments of Uranium and McKinley <br />Streets in Section 35 and that they form one contiguous loop. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Beyer, Peterson <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski reported that the Road and Bridge Committee also discussed the traffic <br />signal at the 4ntersection of Armstrong Boulevard N.W. and Highway gl0 N.W. The <br />schedule for ithis signal is January 1996. The project will be funded 80 percent with <br />Federal fund~. To expedite the signal by six months, the City would have to provide <br />funding for $12,000, plus come up with the City's share of $22,000 in 1995 instead of <br />1996. The Read and Bridge Committee felt that Staff should not pursue accelerating the <br />project because of the increase in cost and the fact that the letting date is not that far off. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gilbertson and seconded by Councilmember Peterson to put the traffic <br />signal at the intersection of Armstrong Boulevard N.W. and Highway gl0 on the 1996 <br />project list. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer, Hardin <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #16: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />City Administrator Schroeder stated that the Personnel Committee met earlier and discussed <br />six cases. The first was the candidates for Assistant Fire Chief. The recommendation is to <br />offer the position to Tom Hoxter. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to <br />appoint Tom Hoxter to the position of Assistant Fire Chief for 1995 and 1996. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Zimmerman, <br />Beyer and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that case #2 was an update of the status of the Patrol Officer hiring. It <br />is expected a new officer will be "on board" about January 15, 1995. No action is <br />necessary for;this case. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that the Personnel Committee conducted Case #3 as a closed case to <br />discuss the performance evaluation for Patrol Officer Bradley Paplham. The Committee <br />recommended he be retained as a full-time regular employee, effective December 31, 1994. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hardin and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman that <br />Bradley Paplliam be retained as a full-time regular employee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Hardin, Zimmerman, <br />Beyer and Peterson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder reported that Case ~ dealt with the education policy/tuition reimbursement <br />and Case #5 with the wages for exempt for 1995.
