Case <br /> <br />#2: Wendell's Development Agreement and Subsequent Land Sale <br /> <br />C~ty Administrator Schroeder stated he is pleased to bring this case to Council. Wendell's <br />Inc. is proposing to construct a new 20,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the City <br />ogRamsey. <br /> <br />Larry Cody, owner of Wendell's, Inc., stated they are a light manufacturing company, <br />currently located in Minneapolis. They have been in business since 1882. They <br />manufacture specialty medallions and rubber stamps. He stated that Wendell's employs 55 <br />people. He added that them will be very little truck traffic because of the business. <br /> <br /> J~ff Houle of Miller Consm~ctlon stated that the proposed building will be a 19,600 square <br /> feet, white precast double T building just off of County Road #I 16. He elaborated on the <br /> parking, loading docks, office plans and possible future expansion. <br /> <br /> Mayor Hardin inquired of the time table. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cody stated they hope to begin construction within a couple of months and that they <br /> Will be in the building by the end of July 1995. <br /> <br /> Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to approve <br /> the proposed development agreement for the Wendell's Inc. facility. <br /> <br /> /X/lotion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen and Peterson. <br /> Voting No: None. Abstain: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br /> Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to <br /> authorize closing on Lot 1, Block 5, Gateway North Industrial Park 2. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen and Peterson. <br /> Voting No: None. Abstain: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br /> Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt <br /> Ordinance g95-01 authorizing the sale of Lot 1, Block 5, Gateway North Industrial Park 2. <br /> <br /> ~/[otion carried. The parcel is zoned R-1 Rural Residential and B-2 Business and <br /> schools are not a permitted use in that zoning district.
