'1 I I I I I I I I I CASE REPORT FROM FIRE BOARD By: Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator Background: The Ramsey Fire Board conducted a meeting on Wednesday, February 8, 1995, and discussed several items. The first case Was to appoint a citizen representative for the Fire Board. The Board recalled that the citize~ representative, A1 Pearson, had been appointed last year for a two-year tenn. The Recordin~ Secretary was directed to research minutes to determine if that is what was done. (Mr. P ~e3xson was appointed for one year and the Fire Board will deal with this issue at their next meeting.) No Council :action necessary. Case #2 deal~ with new hires for the Fire Department. The Board recommended that Council appr~.ve offering the position of Volunteer Fire Fighter to Richard Sieber, Ron Lemm and Bill Karels. Action by Council has taken place on this case as this information was placed on?the consent agenda for the February 14, 1995 Council meeting. No further Council action necessary. Fire Chief K,aPler presented the Fire Board with information (enclosed) relating to a Hazardous Mbterials Response Team. The Board voted to recommend Council approve having two to~aree Ramsey Fire Fighters join this Team. Motion to approve having two to three Ramsey Fire Fighters join the Hazardous Materials Response Team as Technicians or Specialists. Case 04 was ~ discussion of a draft alcohol/drug policy for the Fire Fighters. It was the consensus of ~the Fire Board that there is a need for such policy. They will be reviewing the proposed ~oliey and discussing it again at their next Fire Board meeting. No Couneill action necessary. The Fire BoarA scheduled their meeting dates for 1995 as follows: 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, Suly 12 and 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 11. No CouncilI action necessary.
