I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br /> <br />Case #8: Report from Road and Bridge Committee <br /> <br />City Engineer' Jankowski reported that the Road and Bridge Committee met earlier this <br />evening and discussed additional mileage designation to the MSA System. He explained <br />that the City ~ ~eives money every year from the State. The amount received depends on <br />population an. how much money is needed to bring the system up to MSA standards. It is <br />to the City's b ;nefit to add as much mileage as possible to designate MSA. Mr. Jankowsld <br />informed the ;ouncil that the City is eligible to designate another one-half mile of street. <br />There are tw( small segments of road - one between Highway #10 and Rivlyn Street on <br />Sunfish Lake, Boulevard and the part between Riverdale Drive and Highway #10 on <br />Armstrong. <br /> <br />Motion by C°t~neilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Coun~lmember Beyer to petition <br />the CommissiOn of Transportation for modifications to the City s MSA system. <br /> <br />Motion carried:~, Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmembers Zimmerman, Beyer, Beahen <br />and Peterson. ¥oting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowsl~i stated that the second item of discussion on the Road and Bridge <br />Committee w~ the consideration of modifying the assessment procedures application to the <br />annual street rn~intenance program. The. Committee voted to table it and discuss it in more <br />detail at a Council workshop. He explained that the third item scheduled for discussion - <br />consultant selection - was also tabled to allow for a full Council discussion at a workshop. <br />Mr. Jankowski ~tated that the fourth item on the Road and Bridge Committee agenda was <br />an update on 1~3/155 Avenue N.W. Staff is waiting for a response from MnDOT on <br />possible varianaes and will report back to Council once response is received. <br /> <br />Case g9: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />City Administrtator Schroeder stated that the Personnel Committee discussed and is <br />recommending ~at Council increase the wages for the Police Chief. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to increase <br />Police Chief AuSpos' wages to $59,701 for 1995. <br /> <br />Further discuss[~on: Mayor Hardin inquired about the funding for the increase. City <br />Administrator S~hroeder expected that funding would come out of the personnel line item <br />and if there is a need for an adjustment, Council will make that when it makes it's annual <br />budget amendm6nts. <br /> <br />Motion carried. ~roting Yes: Councilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Peterson and Zimmerman. <br />Voting No: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that the Personnel Committee is recommending a 2.8 pement increase <br />for the LELS contract. <br /> <br />Motion by Counc!lmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Beahen to approve the <br />amendment to tl~e 1994-1995 LELS Labor Agreement, including a 2.8 percent wage <br />increase. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
