Councilmember Peterson informed Mr. Peterson that it is not suggested that snowmobiles be allowed on that p~-'ticular nail. Bill Smith stated ~at Trott Brook is the only place snowmobiles will be allowed. A resident statedithat it's not legal to drive a snowmobile on Ramsey Boulevard N.W. going 70 miles per hour bui they do it. If we build a trail, they will come. Councilmember Peterson asked Mr. Schroeder to inform the residents what will happen from this point. Mr. Schroeder stated that Staff will take the residents comments tonight and bring a recommendation {to Council at their April 25, 1995 meeting. At that point, Council will either approve somethir~g or set another date for discussion. Patty Kurak, 15001 Sunfish Lake Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, stated she lives on Sunfish Lake and is concerned abotlt a trail being built in her back yard because the dotted lines on the map indicate that's where it wquld be. She inquired how the City is proposing to acquire the property from private landowners, when they propose to do it and why they propose to do it. Mr. Boos stated ithat this is a concept plan to determine the best use for the land - no land acquisitions have been talked about. Ms. Kurak stated ghat there are peoples homes here where the lines are drawn. Mr. Boos reiterat~l that this is a concept plan only - the trail will not necessarily be on Ms. Kuraks land. Councilmember Peterson stated that City Council has not officially voted on this. Ms. Kurak stated ~that seeing the trail line ch'awn along the lake disu'esses her and she would like to see it removed. Councilmember Peterson stated that it was too expensive to remove lines on maps each meeting but that we should riot cause people to become alarmed. He added that he was very nervous presenting this. ~ Ms. Kurak stated ihat she is also concerned about privacy and that the line on the map is an insult. A resident inquir~ why property owners are not notified before "lines are put on paper." Mayor Hardin informed the resident that all meetings are open to the public, the meeting times are published in the ~aper. There is citizen input asked for at the Council meetings, the Ramsey Resident carries a brief summary of the Council minutes. We would have to spend more tax dollars to notify eiveryone. We try to get the information out to the residents as best we can with the resources available to us. The resident stated that it's obvious some of the residents are not aware of what's going on.
