I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> i <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />CASE# <br /> <br /> AWARD COb TRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF RAMSEY BUSINESS <br /> PARK 95 PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On March 28, 199~;, the City Council approved plans and specifications for the improvements to <br />Business Park 95 ,~ddition, which includes the construction of McKinley Street and Uranium <br />Su:eet N.W. along ~rith watermain and storm and sanitary sewer. The improvements are necessary <br />to provide municipal services to the existing business incubator constructed by Dennis Sharpe, as <br />well as three othe~ developments which are anticipated to include Trend Scientific, Command <br />Corporation, and Qarlson Product Technology. Bids for these improvements will be opened on <br />Friday, May 5, 1995, and a tabulation and recommendation for award will be available at the time <br />of the meeting. <br /> <br />We took bids sep~ately on the landscaped berm designed for the eastern side of Uranium Street <br />N.W. This berm lblanfing will provide an entry node to the City's industrial park as well as <br />screening between ~on-compatible heavy and light industrial uses. We received four responses to <br />the bid proposal at ~t requested amount not to exceed $10,000. One bidder exceeded this amount. <br />One bid tree stockithat was too small to be of any benefit in the short term. The third did not <br />provide variety of t~ee plantings. The recommended bid is from Countryview Nursery pursuant to <br />the attached. <br /> <br />Recommendatioli: <br /> <br />I recommend award of the berm, street, sewer and water construction improvements to the lowest <br />responsible bidders!pursuant to the above. <br /> <br />Council action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt Re~§olution ~/95-05-~ receiving bids and awarding contract for Improvement <br />Project ~{95-11 (Cofnstmction of Uranium Street N.W. and McKinley Street N.W., the extension <br />of sanitary sewer arid municipal water services and berm planting.) <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Engineer <br />Finance Officer <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />CC: 5/9/95 <br /> <br /> <br />
