No vehicles over 12,000 pounds gross weight or 19 feet or more in <br />length may be stored on residential property unless it is stored inside. <br /> <br />Shakopee does no~ allow any commercial vehicles or equipment to be stored outside. Commercial <br />vehicles less than ~Sne ton may be stored inside. <br /> <br />$t;, Anthony allows one camping or recreational vehicle, but no other vehicles over 9,000 pounds. <br /> <br />St. Louis Park does not allow any vehicles over 6,000 pounds empty weight, 22 feet in length or 8 <br />feet high (exclude~ RVs in excess of 22 feet in length, if parked in rear yard at least 5 feet from <br />adjacent property lines). <br /> <br />Wayzata does not allow trucks over 12,000 pounds gross weight or 30 feet or more in length. <br />Bo~ts, fish housesl school buses, trailers, farm tractors and motor homes must be kept in the rear <br />or side yard and M fully screened from adjoining properties and public right-of-way. <br /> <br />There is a lot of Variety in how other Cities handle commercial vehicle storage in residential <br />districts. Council heeds to look at how they want Ramsey to look. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff is recommending that City Council consider the following options: <br /> <br />DO NOTHING <br />Direct staff to continue to enforce the current ordinance and accept applications for <br />cort~litional use permits to store commercial vehicles on residential property. Each <br />applicant will be considered on a case by case basis. <br /> <br />-or- <br /> <br />GRANT A UNIFORM TIME FRAME FOR COMPLIANCE <br />Direct staff to continue to enforce the current ordinance, discourage applications for <br />cor~d~t~onal use permits, and administer a reasonable and uniform time frame for <br />compliance. <br /> <br />-or- <br /> <br />RE~/RITE ORDINANCE <br />Dirbct staff to propose an ordinance amendment to amend regulations for storing <br />con~mercial vehicles on residential property based on the results of the area survey. <br />During the interim, property owners in violation of the current ordinance should be <br />logged with any enforcement action delayed until the new ordinance is in place. <br /> <br /> <br />
