I I I I I I I I I I I PERSONNEL COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 1995, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Presant: Mayor Glen Hardin Councilmember Carolyn Beahen ' Councilmember Shells Beyer Also Present: City Administrator Ryan Schroeder Finance Officer Jessie Hart CALL TO ORDER CouncilmembCr Beyer called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:04 p.m. APPROVE AGENDA Councilmemb~r Beyer requested that the Personnel Committee meet in a closed executive session for a p~ ssible disciplinary action against an employee. The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, 1995, with all Councilmeml~rs invited to attend. A tentative date of Monday, May 15, 1995 for 5:00 p.m. was also l~uggested. Motion by CoUncilmember Beahen and seconded by Mayor Hardin to approve the agenda as presented. , Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Hardin, Councilmember Beahen and Beyer. Voting No: None. CITIZEN INPUT None. COMMITTEE BUSINESS: Case #1: IEducation Policy/Tuition Reimbursement City Administrator Schroeder summarized the proposed education policy/tuition reimbursementlpolicy and asked the Committee for input. Mayor Hardin~noted #3 which reads "Reimbursement for 50% of the cost of tuition and books of college level courses which the Council deems are job-related and are a benefit to the employer, iHe wasn't sure that the City really benefits from the books and suggested adding money to the tuition reimbursement instead. Mayor Hardin noted the sentence "Council deems City-related" and asked if that should be everyone or should it be streamlined. Personnel Committee/May 9, 1995 Page I of 5
