We have ordered a site survey and
a Phase I Environhaental Audit in order to move this possible sale along.

We have also begun to take proposals on the removal of the existing structures on this site. As of
September 15, 1495, it is expected that all public works material and equipment will be vacated
from the buildings and grounds. Once complete, we can confirm prices for removal of the
buildings and demolition of any remaining pads or structures.

While negotiati~gs for the sale are not yet complete, we are asking for authorization to sell the
property by ordinance. The sale cannot be effected until 30 days after publication of the
authorizing ,o, rd, inltnce. Therefore, we are asking for adoption of the ordinance thinking that to not
do so "could' del~y a sale.

The purchase anfl development agreements are expected to be completed upon receipt of the
Environmental AUl dit. These are expected, therefore, to be placed on your next agenda.

For information l~urposes, we have enclosed herein the preferred conceptual site plan at this point
[certain to chang~ at least somewhat] and a letter from the Historical Society on this project.

Council Action~:

Motion to adopt Ordinance # 95-XX authorizing the sale of the old public works facility.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
Finance Officer

CC: 9/12/95

/kaj
