The total
amount of eac~ bid is tabulated as follows:
Bonine Excavating $103,581.65
H & M Asph%lt $104,218.25
Inland Utility $106,766.00
Barbarossa!& Sons $112,074.00
Yolk Sewer!& Water $113,840.00

Engineers Sstimate $ 87,378.00
Feasibilit~ Report $ 68,660.00

The dlfferenc~ in the low bid received and the engineers estimate is
attributed to[a much higher ground water table than was anticipated,
causing a substantial increase in the amount of dewatering of the trench
required forI utility installation. The difference between the
feasibility rgport and the low bid is attributed to the same high ground
water table and a different configuration of the proposed utility system
that was deve%oped through the process of final design to avoid major
impacts on a ~umber of large underground utilities currently in place.

Based on our' review of the bids and the merit of the low bid we
recommend award to Bonine Excavating. If you have any questions on the
bids receivedlor our recommendation please let me know.

Sincerely,
JO~I~ER & ASSOCIATES,

JCB/bjh
Enclosure

File: 7169.10403

INC.

Offices in Elk River & Burnsville
