I <br /> <br />CASE # <br /> <br />PROPOSE <br /> <br />POLICY FOR TEMPORARY STRUCTURES IN EMERGENCY <br /> SITUATIONS <br /> Case of Sylvia Frolik, Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Council was Tecently faced with a situation where an applicant was requesting the use of a <br />mobile hom~ on a temporary basis until the principal structure on the property was repaired <br />of fine damage. At the time, Council noted the need for expediency in these typd$ of <br />situations arid directed Staff to draft a policy wherein permits for temporary structures <br />could be issffed administratively by Staff in emergency situations. <br /> <br />Noti fi ca tlon: <br /> <br />No persons Or agencies were notified that this case would be on the Council agenda. <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Enclosed is Staff's draft policy and permit form for a temporary structure in emergency <br />situations that applies to both the residential and the commercial districts. The permit <br />would be grX~d for 90 days and eligible for one 90 day extension provided satisfactory <br />progress is b~ing made on reparation of the previous structure. Any extensions beyond the <br />initial 180 &iys would have to go before Council for approval. <br /> <br />A financial !guarantee would be required in an amount established by City Council <br />resolution. ~The financial guarantee would ensure the timely removal of the temporary <br />structure frofi~ the property. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff r~ommends adoption of the policy as drafted. <br /> <br /> Council Action: <br /> <br />MotiOn to: <br />Adol~t the policy entitled "Provisions For Temporary Structures In Emergency <br />Situations" presented to City Council on October 10, 1995. <br /> <br />Mofi0n to: <br />AdoPt Resolution ~t95-10- establishing a f'mancial guarantee in the amount of <br />$500~00 for emergency temporary structure permits. <br /> <br />Review Cheeklist: <br /> <br />City Adminiswator <br />City Engineer <br />City Building Official <br /> <br />CC: : <br /> <br />10/10/95 <br /> <br /> <br />
