Dear Mayor Hardin '.ard Councilmembers: This letter is writtenion behalf of Bury & Carlson, Inc. On August 25, I992 the City Council granted a conditiona~ use permit to Bury & Carlson, Inc. to establish a demolition concrete and asphalt processing f~cility on lasper Street 'No.r~. west,' between I42nd ard 143rd Avenues Northwest. This approval was. subject to 25 conditions. Bury & Carlson subsequently established the recy~Iing facility and has operated it continuo~Iy since that time. To our knowledge, the cortst~acdon and operation of the facility has complied with all 25 conditions set forth ia the conditiorlal use permit and the City has had no 'problems with this hcility. This letter is to request that the City Council cortsicler two revisions to the com:lidons ia the permit, Condition 1~o. 12 restricts the hours of operation at the facility to 7:00 a.m. through, 5:00 p.m. Monday ~rough Saturday. Bury & Carlson requests that this restriction be dropped, for a nm'nber of reas~)ns, including: Many roadway construction projects are done during'night, time hohrS and on 'weekends. Bury & Carlson needs to be able to supply these projects on a 24-hour a day basis. A portion of Bury & Carlson's property is used for snow stpmge in the winter. SnowplowLng and hauling activities also often times occur at night and on weekends. Bury & Carbon has a small retail business on the site which supplies homeowners. and o~ers with decorative rock. This business needs to be open on Sundays to serve i-~ customers. · ['
