2.1 HARDWARE COVERED- Doradus shall provide repair and/or replacement-for <br />the following components of the system: <br /> <br /> 2.1. I CONTROL BOX- The box housing the controls for the receiver/decoder <br /> unit, <br /> <br />2.1.2 SIREN DECODER BOARD- The receiver/decoder board, including its <br />integral power supply. <br /> <br />2.1.3 BATTERY-The battery which is used to provide backup to the siren <br />receiver/decoder board and power to the radio. <br /> <br />2.1.4 RADIO-The two-way radio transceiver installed as part of the unit. <br /> <br />2.1.5 INTERCONNECTioNs- All internal connections within the control box <br />including cables, fuses, and antennas which form part of the receiver/decoder <br />system. <br /> <br />2.2. HARDWARE FAII.URES AND DEFECTS COVERED <br /> <br />2.2.1 CAUSES AND CONDITIONS COVERED UNDER NO~ <br />MAINTENANCE CHARGE- Doradus will repair or replace, for the charge set <br />forth at paragraph 4.1, items listed at paragraph 2.1 which fail due to wear and <br />tear, age, atmospheric conditions such as fluctuations in ambient temperature, <br />humidity, airborne particles, etc, or unexplained failures. <br /> <br />2.2.2 CAUSES AND CONDITIONS COVERI~.r) BY PAYMENT AT TIME <br />AND MATERIALS RATES-Failures and defects of a receiver/decoder caused <br />by Acts of God (lightning, f'rre not caused by a failure or defect in the hardware <br />referred to a paragraph 2.1, excessive winds, hail, etc.), or human actions <br />(vandalism, deliberate or inadvertent damage by outside forces) will be repaired <br />at a time and materials rate set forth at paragraph 4.2. Doradus shall provide to <br />the City reasonable sufficient evidence of the cause of such damage prior to <br />receipt of payment under this paragraph 2.212. <br /> <br />2.2.3 UNSERVICEABLE LrNITS-In the event that, for any reason, the <br />Doradus technician determines that a unit is unsafe to approach or to work on, <br />including, without limitation, improperly grounded units, units not shut off or <br />improperly shut off, and unsafe environmental conditions of any kind, Doradus <br />will notify the City of' the problem. Doradus shall not be responsible for <br />providing a service call until such unit is serviceable and Doradus is notified of <br />such fact. <br /> <br />This agreement is effective from January 1, 1996 thru December 31, 1996. At the end of each <br />calendar year the agreement will be renewed automatically for one additional year. Either <br /> <br /> <br />
