This graph indicates that the average value of a new home constructed in the City of Ramsey is
declining and that this trend stmed in April and has continued through the month of November. In
addition, the graph also shows when the new building permit valuation fees were implemented.
As a point of reference, in 1994 the average new home value was $95,871 with 248 new home
permits. This would tend to support the assumption that the average value is declining as the
average value for 1996 is $93,944 using 196 new homes. Should this trend continue, the City
may want to review the possible causes of its continuation. Some possible causes may be that the
type of lots available have become less desirable, that too many plans are being reviewed by a
single individual resulting in missed details or that the market is somewhat starved for lower priced
homes.
Should you have any comments or suggestions for the month end reports, either in their content or
layout, please let me know.

Attachments

I
I
I
i
I
I
I
I
I
I
!
I
I
I
I
!
I
I
I
