I I I I I I I I I I Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION g95-12- RESOLUTION ~ ADOPTING HOUSING GOALS AGREEMENT - METROPOLITAN LIVABLE COMMUNITIES ACT WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey supports a balanced housing supply, with housing available for peopl~ at all income levels; and WHERE'~S, the City of Ramsey supports the accommodation of all racial and ethnic groups in the purchase, sale, rental and location of housing within the community; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey supports a variety of housing types for people in all stages of the life-c~cle; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey supports a community of well-maintained housing and nmghborhoods, m~ludmg ownership and rental housing; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey supports housing development that respects the natural environment of th.~ community while striving to accommodate the need for a variety of housing types and costs; arid WHERE~S, the City of Ramsey supports the availability of a full range of services and facilities for its relsidents, and the improvement of access to and linkage between housing and employment. ' NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ~NOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That in order to carry out the above housing principles, the City of Ramsey agrees to use benchmarl~ indicators for communities of similar location and stage of development as affordable .hnd life-cycle housing goals for the period 1996 to 2010 as amended for its own unique si~ation. 2) That the Qity of Ramsey agrees to make its best efforts, given market conditions and resource availability, to remain within or make progress toward these goals. 3) That to ac~eve the above goals, the City of Ramsey elects to participate in the Metropolitan Livable C(~mmunities Act Local Housing Incentives Program, and intends to prepare and submit a p!an to the Meu'opolitan Council by June 30, 1996, indicating the actions it will take to cartbt out the above goals. The motion for th{ adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following Voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following ~vere absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 12th day of D~ember, 1995.
