The direct mail brochure should also include some of the same .information, except we may want to
expand upon each of these virtues. The flyer may also want to include a map showing the area,
and some of the Current business residents that the City has worked with in developing other sites,
such as Sharp Construction, ParaBody, Detail Tool and Engineering, and Mate Punch and Die.

This brochure could also include a tear-off card that could be returned for additional information on
specific areas of interest. Upon receiving a request for information, a certain course of action
could be developed. This could include the use of a number other than the main 427-1410
number, such as 427-8591, which would allow for some tracking of contacts. The contacts would
also be handled Slightly different to allow for tracking of leads. This system could include the
following:

1)

After phone contact or receipt of a request of tear-off card, a letter would be generated with
the requested information.

2)

A week to 10 days after the letter and requested information is mailed, the party would be
contacted.

3)

During this second contact, a meeting would be arranged if the party was still interested. If
they are not interested, than the reason for no additional interest Would be recorded. If
there would be an opportunity for future interest, they would be kept on file and contacted
at a later date.

4)

If a meeting is arranged, the City would develop a preliminary site location and project the
possible a~sistance that would be available. The City would also provide, if requested,
names of Possible f'm'ns to construct the facility. If the process would continue, then it
would proceed to the normal site plan approval process. This would include approval of
any possible financial assistance packages by the City Council/Economic Development
Authority.

This program would be monitored by the u'acking of calls on a quarterly basis which would allow
for the City to review the success or failure of the ads. The direct mailer would have the ability to
use the number of cards returned for additional information and the calls generated. If it is found
that one ad is less successful than another, than it could be discontinued.

7
