CASE #1

1995 RAMSEY BUSINESS EXPO RECAP
By: James Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator

Background:

The 1995 Ramsey Business Expo was held on June 3, 1995, in conjunction with the Lions
Community Picnic. The event had a large turnout of residents; however, the number of booths
was down from past years. This year, we had 17 booths, including one for the City of Ramsey.

A post-Expo survey was distributed near the end of the Expo and, from those returned, most of the
participants. . were h~[ppy with. the event and their suggestions for changes were fairly minor, such
as beganmng at 2:00 p.m. instead of 1:00 p.m.

All participants have been mailed a thank you card for participating in the 1995 Ramsey Business
Expo. Based upon this input, the Expo should be held in conjunction with the picnic in 1996 as
well. It may be a good idea for the EDC to develop a new plan for the next Expo. This plan may
include booth arrangement ideas, brochure ideas (i.e., pictures), starting times and closer
coordination with the Lions in planning the entire event.

Commission Action:

Based upon discussion.

Reviewed by:

Economic Development Coordinator

EDC:06/08/95

/ccr
