The City has held a couple of public hearings plus this is <br />another oppormnit~ to take comment. He encouraged the residents to also submit written comment <br />to the City Counci;1. The attention has been on roadways, etc. That is a result of population and <br />jobs, and that pla.~es a demand on public services. We will continue to work with Staff and <br />Council and added!that public comment is appreciated. He added that this is a tough balancing act <br />to determine how t9 provide roadways, trail ways plus more police service, etc. <br /> <br />Bill Smith stated he would like for the people present to bear in mind, we are talking about a plan <br />for the year 2010i and beyond. Response has been helpful - this is not proposed to happen <br />tomorrow. He sta~d that people here have spoken of privacy. He suggested thinking about what <br />it was like befordthey came. The population was lower; how did those people feel when <br />newcomers came ~d changes were made. There were farms here and gravel roads. Things will <br />change and popula~on will grow. The park and trail system is proposed to attempt to preserve that <br />part of that as more <br /> Ramsey ~ could be lost people begin to come. It's not to occur tomorrow and <br />the impacts you feol are what others felt. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that this issue will be back on the Council agenda on April 25, 1995. Once <br />Council approves ~omething, it's submitted to Met Council for approval which will take some <br />period of time. In,October 1993, we submitted something to the Met Council that just received <br />approval in Janu ~aty of this year. During that process, the Metropolitan Council will make <br />demands of this Ci,ty Council. The Met Council will demand updates of housing elements that has <br />not been dealt w~th here m other than a summary fashion. He suggested the residents attend the <br />April 25 meeting tO know what's going on. <br /> <br />Ms. Kurak stated if Council votes to maintain lines around Sunfish Lake, may I request they draw <br />our houses in the area; put our homes on there so Met Council can see there are homes there. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that the maps we use are maps the County prepares for us. If there isn't a <br />line shown there, we will add it. <br /> <br />A ~esident suggest0xl re-routing Highway g47 so a person doesn't have to drive by Schwartzman <br />and Sons junk yardlto get to Ramsey. <br /> <br />Todd Cook, 1735~ Puma Street N.W., Ramsey, stated he is a Commissioner for the Park and <br />Recreation CommiSsion. This City is going to grow. People have been coming out here in the <br />past and will conti~/i~e to come in the future. The difference is if it is planned growth, the City will <br />be able to accomm~ate youth and adults.
