The 153rd/155th Trail relates to the above project as well as beginning an important
east-west travel route. $99,691 are budgeted from State Aid road construction funds for
this trail. ~l'~e path will parallel the road in most areas, but also will swing towards the
wetland ~ea accessing picnic sites and opportunities for wildlife viewing. The
approximate 50 acre site (including that required for the road) will connect withe the
wetland p~ks to the south in the Greenland Hills subdivisions. Residents in the Pineview
Greenland rHills area will then have direct pedestrian access to 153rd crosstown, the Lake
Itasca trail system, Central Park, and other destinations.

10.

River's Bend Shelter and Safety Fences are intended to be accommodated by a
$20,000 Park Trust fund expenditure. As with any Park Trust fund project, the
expenditure is dependent on available dollars within the district, in this case the Oxbow
park district.

The safety fences will be six feet high and extend beyond the first base line to the south of
the softball field. On the third base line, the fence will extend from the backstop
approximately 30 feet, due to the occasional use of the left field for soccer play.

The shelter will be sited in proximity to the play equipment, and should have (or capability
for) restrooms.
