5. The City shall aggressively seek external development, operations and maintenance funding for <br /> trail segments that are of regional importance. <br /> <br /> 6. The City shall identify and prioritize those trails serving an important transportafional role (ie: <br /> paralleling Highway//47) to utilize Federal Highway Administration or Minnesota State Aid <br /> funding for construction. <br /> <br />7. In existing trail corridors, a landscaping program should begin utilizing seedling stock to <br />separate and buffer adjoining land uses. Each plan will consider providing sight lines to assist the <br />public in monitoring trail activ/ty. <br /> <br /> 8. All trails received through subdivision platting shall be constructed concurrent with the <br /> <br />development infrastructure to encourage and expedite trail plan completion. <br /> <br />9. The City's trail plan shall remain current and shall remain frequently referenced to identify <br />opportunities for development such as construction concurrent with road or utility projects or <br />significant street repairs and new development proposals. <br /> <br /> 10. Whenever possible, trails shall be designed to accommodate the largest variety of recreational <br /> <br />users such as walkers, joggers, in-line skaters, bicyclists, skiers, horseback riders, etc. <br /> <br />11. Whenever possible, trails shall have looped design options, providing various lengths of <br /> <br />outing. <br /> <br />12. Whenever logical, extended length cul-de-sacs shall have trail links to the neighborhood and <br /> <br />roadway beyond the termini. <br /> <br />13. Identified bikeway/walkway route maps shall be readily available and distributed to the public, <br /> <br />assisting and encouraging their utilization. <br /> <br />14. Easement of fence and auxiliary building setbacks, particularly those adjoining urban trail <br /> <br />corridors, shall be employed to protect the aesthetics of trail corridors. <br /> <br /> 4. Protection of Significant Natural Resources <br /> <br /> Preservation of significant natural resources is also a goal of Ramsey's Recreation and Park <br />Commission.
