IN~rRODUCE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Case gO

Background:

As you know, ~e City has hired a consultant to prepare an amendment to the existing
Comprehensive Plain. The Park and Recreation Commission has been involved in mending the
1991 Park and Tkail Plan (map) and in the trail/sidewalk discussions resulting in standards
reflected in the attached text.

Observation:

The purpose of thi~ case is to introduce the draft text for review at the January meeting.

If you're unable toiread the entire document, please review pages 3-7, 3-19, 3-33 through 3-38, 3-
46 and 3-47. In a~:ldition, the last couple of sentences of ~e introduction memorandum seem to
echo the Commission's findings when the "trail issues paper' was formulated. As you will recall,
the "paper" was completed last year and will be interjected into the updated Park and Open Space
Plan document).

The t~ail issues pape~ r is included with this case for comparison to the consultant's text.

For your information, an 1 lx17 colored Park and Trail map is included with your agenda packet.

Staff Recommendation:
Review for comment at the January Park and Recreation Commission meeting.
[

Commission Action:

None required.

Reviewed by:

Parks/Utilities SuperVisor

P&R: 12/14/95

]kas
