CASE <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR A HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT; CASE OF SUSAN MAXSON <br /> By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Susan Maxson of 8131 154th Lane N.W. has applied for a home occupation permit. Susan would <br />like to establisl~ and operate a dog grooming service in the lower level of her home. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) Site location map e) <br />b) Written request f) <br />c) Site plan g) <br />d) House floor plan (2 sheets) <br /> <br />Business area layout <br />Proposed findings of fact <br />Proposed permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />State Statute re-'quires all properties within 350 feet of the subject property to be notified of the <br />public hearing. Staff notified all persons north and south of the subject parcel from Armstrong <br />Blvd. to Hedgehog Street N.W. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />In accordance with the City's regulations for home occupations, the area devoted to the business <br />would not exceed 20% of the total floor area of the home. The employees would be restricted to <br />the residents of the home. The driveway is large enough to provide a sufficient amount of off- <br />street parking for a 4-customer/day operation. <br /> <br />The proposed permit requires all animals to be kept inside the home until they are picked up by <br />their owners. <br /> <br />Also in accordance with Section 9.11.04 (Home Occupations) of the Ramsey City Code, if <br />granted, the pe ~rmit would not be transferrable from person to person or property to property. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />City Staff recommends approval of the request. <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend that City Council adopt Resolution g95-09 adopting Findings of Fact # <br />relating to a request for a home occupation permit at 8131 154th Lane N.W. <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Recommend that City Council adopt Resolution g05-09- <br />home occupation at 8131 154th Lane N.W. <br /> <br />__ approving the issuance of a <br /> <br />PC: <br /> <br />9/5/95 <br /> <br /> <br />
