I I i I CASE PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 OF CITY CODE TO AMEND PLATTING PROCESS By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik and City Engineer Steve Jankowski Background: Several months agO, the Planning Commission directed City Staff to draft amendments to the City Code to specificallg require that the Park and Recreation Commission review sketch plans for plats prior to the Planning Commission. In the process, Staff also proposed some miscellaneous amendments to the l~latting section to more closely reflect the current procedure used in processing subdivisions in Rarhsey. The proposed amendments were forwarded to the Park and Recreation Commission and they rejected the idea of ~equiring plats to be reviewed by their board prior to the Planning Commission. In their opinion, th{ current code requirement for initial review by the Planning Commission is beneficial to them s~ they know preferred road alignemnts prior to locating parks and trails. The Park Commission also suggested some other minor language adjustments to this section of City Code. At the direction of the Planning Commission, the proposed amendments were then forwarded to City Council for their review. Council agreed with the changes and directed that the amendments be forwarded to the ~Planning Commission for a public hearing. Notification: The public hearing Was advertised in the Anoka Union.
