Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon restated that the windrow of <br />trees have been identified by experts and determined they are not significant. <br /> <br />Cotmcihnember Cook stated some may be cottonwood trees that are beyond maturity. <br /> <br />Councihnember Strommen asked if the project keeps the intent of the Tree Ordinance even <br />though it does not fall within it fully. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon stated staff will be expecting a great <br />landscaping plan for areas to be developed. He stated the developer has also committed to the <br />importance of good landscaping and tree planting. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson noted that these costs estimates do not include the cost of <br />trees and landscaping. <br /> <br />Councilmember Pearson noted the September 16, 2003 letter to John Feges, page 2, #4 Lots, <br />which indicates: "The submitted plat shows five lots being created. The approved preliminary <br />plat only allowed for three lots (Lot 1, Block 1; Lot l, Block 2, Lot 1, Block 3). The final plat <br />shows Lot 1, Block 4 and Lot 1, Block 5 that were not part of the preliminary plat approval. <br />These lots must be removed from the final plat." He asked if this revision had been made. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson stated that has been corrected. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon stated it is now down to two lots. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson stated the two lots are the Charter School and the <br />wellhouse. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig asked for an overall summary of staff's comfort level with moving <br />forward and the developer's comfort level will be moving forward with the stated conditions and <br />contingencies. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson stated this has been an extremely streamlined process. He <br />stated this is a huge project and staff has done its best to capture all the issues in the final plat and <br />attached documentation. He stated he believes staff has done a decent job, the interests of the <br />City are being met, and this developer is being held to the same standards as other developers <br />within Ramsey, He stated he hopes they can live with the comments staff made, 26 pages of <br />comments. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon stated that with the planning and <br />community development aspects, they did a thorough review and he is comfortable, from the <br />planning perspective, to approve it as shown and detailed in the review letter. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked Mr. Engen if he had anything he would be in disagreement with. <br /> <br />City Council/September 23, 2003 <br /> Page 24 of 41 <br /> <br /> <br />
