Case #5: Public Hearing and Levy of Special Assessments for the 2003 Street <br /> Maintenance Program ~ continued <br /> <br />Gary Hanson, 14040 Azurite Street, noted that Case #5 required a 4/5 affirmative vote to pass. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec clarified that there was one nay vote (Councilmember Kurak) so it was approved <br />on a 6/7 vote. <br /> <br />Case #23: Report from the Personnel Committee <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee met on September 23, 2003 to discuss the following cases: <br /> <br /> 1) Consider Resolution Accepting the Resignation of Park and Recreation <br /> Commissioner and Authorizing Staff to Begin the Recruitment Process to Fill <br /> the Vacancy <br />Councihnember Cook advised that the Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council <br />adopt Resolution #03-09-267 accepting the resignation of Park and Recreation Commissioner <br />Michael Rolfe and authorizing staff to begin the recruitment process to fill the vacancy. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested that a plaque of appreciation be given to Michael Rolfe. <br /> <br />Counciimember Kurak stated the Personnel Committee also discussed asking for a 30-day notice <br />should a commissioner desire to resign. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook explained this vacancy will be posted in the Ramsey Resident during the <br />second week in November. He advised that he was unable to reach Mr. Rolfe by telephone prior <br />to the Council meeting to ask if he would be willing to attend one more Park and Recreation <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested a plaque be presented to Mr. Rolfe at a Council meeting and then re- <br />presented at the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. <br /> <br />Counci hnember Strommen noted that Mr. Rolfe is also the liaison to the Environmental Policy <br />Task Force (EPTF). <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked staffto assure a new liaison is appointed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Cook, Kurak, Pearson, <br />Strommen, and Zimmenrtan. Voting No: None.
