PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Personnel Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 26, 2003, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Todd Cook <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Human Resources Manager Givonna Reed <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:19 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to approve the agenda <br />adding Case #lb. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Cook, and Councilmembers Pearson, and Kurak. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Consider Authorization to Begin Recruitment Process for a Building Official <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed stated that on May 6, 2003, Mr. Glyn Huff resigned from his <br />position as Build',mg Official for the City of Ramsey. Minnesota Statutes require that cities <br />appoint a new Building Official within 15 days of a vacancy. Inspectron was hired as the City's <br />interim Building Official with the understanding that services provided would include leadership <br />in the areas of staff development and guidance, residential and commercial code compliance, <br />plan review, and inspections. After holding several meetings to discuss the Building Inspections <br />Division, staff recommended that the Council authorize staff to begin the recruitment process for <br />a Building Official. The position description has been reviewed and updated to reflect the needs <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/August 26, 2003 <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
