MN 55443 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Strau <br /> <br />On February 8, <br />organization. ~ <br />continue mem <br />communities a~ <br /> <br />1994, I informed the NMMA of Ramsey's desire to continue membership in the <br />~)n February 16, 1994, the Operating Committee discussed Ramsey's request to <br />~ership as a fixed rate contributor as occurs with over half of the member <br />d all of Ramsey's immediate neighbors with NMMA membership. <br /> <br />At the Fcbruar~ 16, 1994 meeting, you suggested that a committee meeting would be held to <br />discuss this issue further which could afford Ram~ey the opportunity to discuss its concerns. On <br />March 14, 199~, I received your March 10, 1994 letter invoicing Ramsey $8,020 based upon <br />committee actioh. <br /> <br />For 1993, and again for 1994, the NMMA offered any Anoka County city or township <br />membership inlthe NMMA Amoka County chapter at a fixed rate. In return for this the Anoka <br />County cities ~,ere/are to receive service delivery at a level lower than the balance of the <br />membership. 13 believe the rationale for this program, proposed by the Mayor of Blaine, was to <br />strengthen the .I~MMA by increasing its membership, diversity of input gained from developing <br />communities, a~d legislative positioning. Given your response of March 10, 1994, I believe the <br />R~m.~ey City 0 macil is interested in the Anoka County Chapter membership as has been offered to <br />Amdover, Ham Lake and Oak Grove. In order to consider this, however, we are interested to <br />know which services are not received by Anoka County cities and which reductions we Could <br />expect. We a~o need to know the formula for the Anoka County f~ed fees. Finally, please <br />forward, for m y fries, the miuutes of the Membership Committee meeting referenced in your <br />March 10, 1994.. correspondence. <br /> <br />I look forward t~ your reply.
