Cotmcilm~mber <br /> <br />RESOLUTIOI~ <br />1994 STREET <br /> <br /> introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION g94-04- <br /> <br />ELIMINATING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT g94-12 FROM THE <br />MAINTENANCE PROGRAM <br /> <br /> WHERi~AS, Improvement Project ~)4-I2 calls for a 1-1/2 inch bituminous overlay of <br />the street in the Garol Rose and Sports Haven Additions; and <br /> <br /> WHERliAS, a substantial number of residents appeared at the public hearing held on <br />March 22, 1994, iand voiced concern over the need for a bituminous overlay; and <br /> <br /> WHERI~AS, the City Engineer, Mayor Gilbertson and Couneilmember Zimmerman met <br />with approximately 20 residents on March 28, 1994, to review the pavement conditions; and <br /> <br /> WHERI',AS, many pavements were judged to be borderline conditions between needing <br />a sealcoat and bi~ uminous overlay; and <br /> <br /> WHER] ',AS, the street segments which are in definite need of an overlay have been <br />deteriorating rap dly according to long-time residents; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it was the consensus of the residents at the March 28 meeting that they <br />would support ~ bituminous overlay if the project were delayed for one year in order to give the <br />residents an opp~ rtunity to budget for the improvement. <br />NOW THERI~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY[ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That Improvement Project g94-12 be terminated. ...~ <br /> <br />2) That a s'~mqilar overlay project be initiated for the 1995 Street Maintenance Program. <br /> <br />3) That the ~°ne-year delay of this project will not affect the City's rate of financial participation <br /> on the ~ture project if implemented in 1995. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> ~md upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the follow~g voted against the same: <br />and the followiqg abstained: <br />and the foIlowintg were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon saidiresolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 12th day of~April, 1994. . <br /> <br /> <br />
