The project is proposed to be funded with the City's MSA (state gas tax) fund. When this project was first
conceptualized and budgeted it included a $410,000 expenditure, so the incremental increase of $90,000 would
have to be authorized if Council desires to proceed with the approach of a full depth reclamation. There are
currently adequate funds in the Citv's MSA account to cover this additional expenditure, but as previously discussed
MSA funds become limited in future years due to the current MSA projects in progress.
Staff Recommendation:
Staff recommends the full depth reclamation approach for the maintenance needs of this section of Alpine Drive.
Doing so will produce a better end product (similar to a reconstructed road) that will last much longer than a
standard mill and overlay, and produce excess class 5 material that can be utilized on other projects within the City.
Committee Action:
Motion to authorize a revised scope of improvements for City improvement project 11-09; the bituminous overlay
of Alpine Drive, to include a full depth reclamation approach.
Location map
Attachments
Form Review
Inbox Reviewed By Date
Brian Olson Brian Olson 09/08/2011 12:03 PIM
Kurt Ulrich Kurt Ulrich 09/08/2011 01:19 PM
Kurt Ulrich
Form Started By: Tim Himmer Started On: 09/08/2011
