April 7, 1994

Jessie L. Hart
Finance Officer
City of Ramsey
15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

Dear Jessie,

On Tuesday, April 5th, at your request I performed tests and
diagnostics on the Law Enforcement System. The results were somewhat
inconclusive because no failure was detected, however several things
have been ruled out. The tests showed the disk drive and controller
to be in working order and that the central processing unit is also
functioning properly. I found only one terminal with a video problem,
which would not cause a lockup; that could be repaired at a very minor
cost. I started looking for system problems because no hardware
failures could be detected. I found that when all terminals are
logged onto the system, all in different parts of the system, the
system memory goes below the limit of allowing another task to be
performed. I believe this is the condition that'is causing the lockup
of the computer. The condition can be easily rectified by replacing
your 512k memory with a 1 meg memory board, which would double the
amount of memory. This not only would alleviate the lockup problem,
but also would speed up the entire system. To prove my theory, I
would like to place this upgrade in your system for a period of 60
days. After 60 days, if the tockup problem has not returned, I will
sell you this memory upgrade for $500.00.

If you need further clarification or if you have any questions, please
feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
~umphre~
NaSys Corporation

JH:lb

MaSys Corporation "Managed Systems"
435 FORD ROAD, SUITE 465 · MINNEAPOLIS, MN. 55426 · (612) 546-9556
