REQUEST FOR Background: Jeffrey and Julie CASE # ~ A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR A HOME OCCUPATION; CASE OF JEFFREY AND JULIE LORGE By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik borge of 17310 St. Francis Blvd. N.W. have applied for a conditional use permit for a home occupation. They would like to establish and operate a one-chair beauty salon operation in their!home. The following items are enclosed for your information: a) Siie location map b) Siie plan c) FlOOr plan d) PrOposed findings of fact e) PrOposed conditional use permit Observations: The Planning C0ynmission conducted a public hearing on May 3 and there were no verbal or written comment~ submitted relating to the request for the home occupation. In accordance wil~h the City's regulations for home occupations, the area devoted to the business would not exceedJ 20% of the total floor area of the home. The employees would be restricted to the residents of ti~e home. The driveway is large enough to provide a sufficient amount of off- street parking for ~ one-chair operation. Also in accordafice with Section 9.11.04 (Home Occupations) of the Ramsey City Code, if ~anted, the permi, t would not be transferrable from person to person or property to property. RecommendatiOn: The Planning Commission and City Staff recommend approval of the request.
