Rabbil Park - Backstop and bleachers should be purchased to accommodate neighborhood
softball field use in that a_rca. It is Staffs intenuon to provide grading for that portion of the park.
Rabbit Park is in dire ne_r_,d of soil amendments. These could occur this year in addition to the
~ading, as pan of thc chsposa} of any organic soils resulting from ~he construction of 153rd
Avenue N.W. or other projects.

1996

Titterud Parking Lot(s) Paving - During certain times of the ),ear, Titterud's parking lots
a great deal of traffic making the surface rutty and unpleasant, if not hazardous, for users.

Central Park Expansion and/or Field Lighting - This $98,000 expenditm-e is intended to
facihtate the purchase, or development of the 35 acres east of Central Park, or perhaps provide for
field lighting, h should be noted that i~ is StafFs opinion that ballfield development, not field
lighting, represents a better monetary return. This item was moved to 1996 from 1997 to respond
to residential growth and RYAA's projected enrolh'nent.

Flintwood Terrace Park Shelter and Playground This would represen~ those
improvements occurring north of 142nd Avenue N.W. and most likely east of Fluonne Street
N,W. This item was formally fifieA to the following items as a $51,000 expenditure. Separating the
Sunfish Lake Lakeshore Picnic Area may provide for more project distinction. Certainly as
we get closer to the year 1996, the specific dollar amounts may be amended slightly. The
lakeshom picnic m-ca could represent trails, etc., in conjunction with urban residential development
around Sunfish Lake.

Bear Parking Lot and Associated Improvements - A parking lot ma), ultimately be
required. Plus, as the area between Bear and Woodland Green Parks is developed, it is likely
those two would be linked via an urban trail section, increasing both park's availability and
utilization.

Highway #47 Trail/Fox Park Connection to 16?th, Avenue N,W. - As previously
stated, this improvement is intended to provide safe travel parallel to State H_ighway #47 and
pm'fide connection to the commercial area for peAesmans and bicyclists. There also may be ouflot
acquisition costs or boardwalk to be l~urchased in providing this connection. The Se,000 may
represent half of the project cost. ISTEA dollars could be targeted if the 1994- ~-ali project works
well.

River's Bend Park Shelter - This would be for a park shelter in proximity to the pla.',:
equipment. This shelter should be designed with expansion capabilities so that rest rooms could
ukirnateiy be provided in conjunction with it.

1P97

County Road #83 Trail Connecting the Lake Itaska Trail to 153rd Avenue N.W.
and Central Park - This item, as stated above, was rotated from 1996 due to the Lake Itaska's
Trail consn-ucfion project spilling into 1995 and the perceived urgency of providing additional
baJ]fields of Central Parks stature. T'ne h-ail will parallel Coun~ Road #83, linldng neighborhoods
and providing a loop in the Lake haska Trail, in addition to connecting Central Park to the Lake
haska and ErmAne Park districts.

River's Bend Softball Fields Safety Fences - This area is Self explanatory. These fences,
as is the case w/th fields #5 and #6 at ~entral Park, are not as critical as the four-plex/ciover leaf
sryie at Central Park I:w~cause the intensity of park use paralleling the baselines are not as great. It is
behex;ed that the Parks Improvement Tr~st Fund will have $1,000 for this expenditure in this year.

ZzO
