7. ': Tree valuation shall not exceed values established by the International <br />Society of Arborculture formula. <br /> <br />B. RetJlantings <br /> 1. '~ If any significant tree in development or building site is cut, damaged or the <br />area withiri the tree's drip line has been encroached upon by grading equipment without <br />City autholization I)ut the tree(s) in question will probably survive (as diagnosed by the <br />City Forest=rFFree Inspector) the builder/developer shall be required to plant two (2) new- <br />trees with minimum diameter of two-and-one-half (2 1/2") inches singly or in a 5" <br />combinatio ~ for deciduous trees; or five (5') feet in height singly or in 10' combination for <br />coniferous rees, <br /> <br /> 2. If an), significant tree(s) die or will probably not survive (as diagnosed by <br />the City F~ester/'Tree Inspector) as a result of being cut, damaged, or encroached upon <br />through de,~.elopment, the City shall require compensation planting of tree(s) equal to 50% <br />of the comtiined diameters of the tree(s) which have been killed. For example, if four (4) <br />trees that a{e each five (5") inches in diameter are removed, then trees with a combined <br />diameter of!, 10" { (4 trees @ 5") x 50% =10"l shall be planted by the developer/builder. <br />This combihation could be ten (10) tree with a I" diameter, four (4) trees with 2 1/2" <br />diameter, o~some other combination with a total of 10" in diameter. In addition, if the City <br />determines lihat a damaged tree is dead or will probably not survive, it shall be removed by <br />the develop§~r/builder unless determined otherwise by the City. <br /> 3. i Any trees required to be planted shall be a minimum of two and one-half (2 <br />1/2") inches{in diameter singly or in combination for deciduous trees; or five (5') feet tall <br />singly or in ~ombination for coniferous trees per nursery standard measurements. <br /> <br /> 4, Any tree required to be planted shall be varied in species, shall prefer the <br />use of speci,.es native to the Anoka Sand Plain, Big Woods, and Savanna regions of <br />Minnesota, ~ind shall comply with current city staff, consultant, and DNR District Forester <br />species recommendations. Required boulevard or yard trees will count towards <br />replacement.: <br /> <br /> 5. :. The preferred location of replacement trees is in lots from which trees have <br />been remove~d. However, with City approval, replacement trees may also be planted in <br />outlots, comtnons areas, and boulevards. City Staff may direct the developer/builder to <br />plant a maxi~mm of 50% of the replacement trees in parks, boulevards, trails, or other <br />public areas Within the respective benefitting Recreation District, <br /> <br /> 6. i Any trees required to be planted shall be replaced if they die or appear to be <br />in decline wi~thin one (1) year of planting by the party responsible for the planting, tn <br />addition, the {eveloper/builder shall remove the declining or dead tree. <br /> <br /> 7. i The developer/contractor shall escrow 150% of the projected cost of tree <br />replacement Fhen conditions do not allow the trees to .be planted at the time of the <br />development ~r construction. <br /> <br /> 8, · Tree valuation shall not exceed values established by the International <br />Society of Arborculture fon'nula(s). <br /> <br /> <br />
