Meeting Date: 10/25/2011 By: Tim Himmer, Engineering/Public Works Information Title: Adopt Resolution #11 -10 -XXX Adopting the Revised Final Assessment Roll for City Improvement Project 411-03, 2011 Street Maintenance Program. Background: City staff was contacted by a resident at 16600 Kangaroo Circle NW on October 17, 2011, requesting clarification on their assessment. The property owner resides on a street that was to receive a sealcoat application with the 2011 street maintenance program. Kangaroo Circle is a small cul-de-sac on the north side of Armstrong Boulevard, that was inadvertently omitted from the map that the contractor received to perform the work. While they should have been working off the map contained within the feasibility study, they were using a map that showed all the proposed projects within the City for the 2011 construction season. There were slight differences between these maps due to project scopes that evolved since the map was first prepared back in February. Observations: Since the work was not performed, these three properties should be removed from the assessment roll prior to submitting to Anoka County for certification. We will include this roadway in a subsequent year's street maintenance program. Recommendation: Staff recommends acceptance of the revised assessment roll for City Improvement project 411-03; 2011 street maintenance program - Oakridge Estates sealcoat. Funding Source: This revision would result in $675 less in assessment revenues. Due to competitive construction bidding savings, and coming in slightly under budget for this years program, this amount can be absorbed in the City's budgeted contribution. Council Action: Motion to adopt Resolution #11 -10 -XXX approving the revised final assessment roll for City Improvement project #11-03; 2011 street maintenance program - Oakridge Estates sealcoat.
