Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Hendriksen, Commissioners Holland, Deemer, <br />Terry, and Thom& Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Bawden and Commissioner LaDue, <br /> <br />Diane Dempsey, applicant, stated that there are some houses in the area; two have been built and <br />two others besides her own are under construction. She informed that her driveway will hold 5-6 <br />cars, and she intends to use the driveway and not the s~reet for parking. She sated she is currently <br />holding classes of 10 in her home in Maple Grove with no complaints. She advised she would like <br />to use her new home and continue to do so after one year, adding that she does not want to look <br />for a relocation. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski explained that the City does not feel it appropriate to lock the neighborhood into a <br />situation when the neighborhood isn't in existence but will be in a short period of time. He <br />advised Ms. Dempsey that she can apply for a CUP in one year thereby allowing the neighborhood <br />to respond. <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Hendriksen affirmed that the City needs to protect the people that are not there <br />yet and therefore cannot respond. <br /> <br />Mr. Jankowski explained to Ms. Dempsey the public hearing notification process that will occur <br />once she applies for the CUP at the termination of her interim use permit. <br /> <br />Ms. Dempsey expressed concern about incurring additional costs to obtain the CUP, and Acting <br />Chairperson Henctr/ksen advised that she needs to make a request to City Council for special <br />dispensation to alleviate additional costs above what she has placed into escrow for this process. <br />He noted that only City Council has the power to grant such a request. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission proceeded to review the terms of the CUP. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Thorud and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to amend #10 to read <br />"Merchandise not considered accessory to the use shall not be displayed or offered for sale within <br />the residence..." <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Hendriksen, Comm/ssioners Thorud, Deemer, <br />Holland, and Terry. Voting No: None.
