We find the proposal acceptable for further development with consideration of the following comments. We request that the developer dedicate 50 feet of right of way from the centerline, and access control to TH 47. Access for the development should be via local streets. As an "A" minor arterial highway, access to TH 47 should be limited to collectors and other highways. It is necessary to restrict access to the highway to ensure that it provides an acceptable level of service now and in the future. For safety and operational reasons, access to the highway should be at major intersections with a spacing of a minimum of one-half mile. The spacing of 153rd and 149th meets that criteria. In this area access must be limited to these intersections to protect the safety and functional integrity of TH 47. Existing access in this area should be consolidated to local streets with connections to these major intersections. The connection of minor local streets to TH 47 is inappropriate.
