Memo: Park ang Recreation Commission September Meeting
August 31,199~

In a related matter, the City has received a quotation for the floating boardwalk at less than 1/3
the originallprojection. Those costs may be assigned, for planning purposes, to the need in
Fox Park. ~The Lake Itasca Trail may need $90,000 worth of boardwalk, necessitating a
bidding pro~ess with construction occurring as soon as January 1995.

Draft For4Stry Comprehensive Plan and Tree ConserVation Policy

Review Rt~msey Elementary School Site Development. School District #11 is
progressing'~rapidly in their additional building and site development plans for 1995. Part of
that processl, is ensuring that continued cooperation occurs between the City and the School
District, particularly in the area of recreation provision.

Before the Bark and Recreation Commission meeting at Fox Park, the School District's "core"
group will t~e discussing, site plans and considerations. I plan on attending that meeting to
provide general comment on City recreational needs. The meeting is scheduled to continue
until early e;vening. Currently, the plan is that those Commissioners who want to attend,
would meeti with officials from School District #11 at City Hall at 8:30 to discuss all issues
relating to the school site and integration with City plans/needs. Mr. Dave Baack will be
invited to represent RYAA's concerns.
