Hart, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of Ras~ey has been an important part in the sponsorship of the Becky Weiss Memorial <br />Road-co by proving the coordination and staffing for the annual event. The 1994 event will be <br />the fourth year thSt the event has been held and is scheduled for Saturday, May 7, 1994 at the City <br />Municipal Centex/ <br /> <br />This event is mn~or the most part on donations from area businesses and individuals and profits <br />from T-shirt sale~. The City contributes staff time by allowing the individuals hour-for-hour time <br />off in the same pa~ period that the event was held_ <br /> <br />Since 1990, whe~ the xmnal donauon was received, the fund has accumulated an excess of <br />$3,799.35 which Fan be utilized toward funding of the 1994 event. Attached is a summary of the <br />activity for thc evont in 1993. The following is a brief summary: <br /> <br />Fund Balance 1/1/93 <br />DOnations- 1993 <br />Ex~penclitures- 1993 <br />Fund Balance 12/31/93 <br /> <br />$2,586.80 <br />7,025.80 <br /> <br />$3,799.35 <br /> <br />Expenditures consist of bicycle helmets, bicycles, clowns for entertainment, advertising, printing, <br />refreshments and T-shirts for re-sale. It is anticipated that the nature of the expenditures will <br />remain somewha~consistent for 1994 although we have projected the cost to increase slightly. The <br />proposed budget for the 1994 event is as foIlows: <br /> <br />R~enue: <br />Existing Fund Balance $3,799~35 <br />Donations Needed 2,387.65 <br />E~penditures (6.187.00) <br />Excess 1994 $ -0- <br /> <br />Based on past pa~'ficipation, donations and T-shirt sales, it is anticipated that the approximately <br />$2,400.00 neede~l in additional revenue should be easily attainable.
