REQUEST CASE AUTHORIZATION FOR ANNUAL PET CLINIC By: J_t~_sie L. Hart, Finance Officer Background: Each spring, the ~'ity of Ramsey holds a pet clinic whereby residents may bring their dogs and eats in for rabies and ~stemper vaccinations at a reduced rate. In 1993, 673 cat and dog distemper and rabies vaccinatiohs were administered and the City received $1.00 to $1.25 per shot for a total of $745.50. This e~arge is added to each of the vaccinations to cover the cost of staff time. It is necessary that atileast two Staff people are present to handle set-up and clean-up. While these individuals are not directly compensated, they receive hour-for-hour time off in the same pay period. This year the clinic has been scheduled at Central Park for Saturday, April 30, 1994 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.,i It is estimated with the addition of cat licensing in 1994 that there wilt be more than 700 shots adhainistered at the Annual Pet Clinic. As in the past, ~p City will solicit bids for veterinarian services for the clinic. An ad has been placed in the Ma~h issue of the Ramsey Resident soliciting bids from area veterinarians as we11 as direct mailings. ~r/'he bids are due back at City Hail by 5:00 p.m. on March 25, 1994 with City Council awarding the bid at their April I2, 1994 meeting.
