There are several greater M.L~esota ci~es that have ~tt.? situatiorm with
ac~oin~g utility systems. Therefore, both cities can make use of the engineer~ format ancl legal
documents as models for constructing infrastructure improvements with other cities. This. study will
provide: (1) a model engineering study document tha: can be used by other M/nnesota cities; (2)
specihcally identLfied areas of' Lnfrastructure development r~vings in Anok~ end Rsmsey that may be
replicated by o~er M/n~esom cities; and (8) model legal agreements for infrastructure shari.~ tha~ can
be replicated by other Minnesota cities.

Closer to home, the proposed study will prcrvlde results that have the potential ~ s~vlng erlsting and future
An·ks and 1%amsey uLi]ity customers significant dollars in connectAon char~ and utLLity rates by not
duplicatLng water, san/tary sewer, and storm water drainage facilities, Depending on the prc~ect, it is
ant/ci~ted by the tLamsey City EngL~er the cos: savings by working together on the~e feasible projects
could be in the area of ten to twenty percent in long-term ~avings to residents of b~th cities. By work/rig
together, we would expect to improve the quahty en~ quantity o~sewer, water, and storm dra/n~e services
to residents, as well.

2
