1994 - 1996 TRANSPORTATION IMPRO~ME1N~r PROGRAM <br /> <br />The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the metropolitan area is to be consistent <br />with regional land use and transportation plans as well as the State Implementation Plan <br />(SIP) for air quahty. The Plan is annually approved by the Metropolitan Transportation <br />Advisory Board and adopted by the Metropolitan Council. The TIP is based on the <br />Metropolitan Council's Transportation Development Guide/Policy Plan, the Transportation <br />Air Quality Plan, Mn/DOT's Transportation Highway Improvement Work Program, and the <br />Regional Transportation Board's Five-Year Plan. Transportation improvements identified <br />in the TIP (both highway and transit) are priority projects in the region that are eligible for <br />federal funding. <br /> <br />PROGRAMbIED HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />Improvements to roadways in and near the City of Ramsey that are included in the 1994-96 <br />TIP are listed below: <br /> <br />Traffic signal revision on TH 10 at Thurston and Fairoak Avenues; let date - 1-28-94 <br />Traffic signal installation on TH 47 at CR 116; let date - 8-15-94 <br />Traffic signal installation at on TH 10 at Armstrong Boulevard; let date - 1-26-96 <br /> <br />Improvements anticipated to be included in future TIPs, pending Metropolitan Council <br />approval, include the following: <br /> <br />Spot improvements on TH 47 from CR 116 to 180th Way; let date - 1-23-98 <br />Bridge replacement on TH 47 over Ford Brook (6.1 miles north of TH 10); let date <br />1-23-98 <br />Bridge replacement on TH 47 over Ford Brook (7 miles north of TH 10); let date - 1- <br />23-98 <br /> <br />PLANNED TRANSIT IM~PROVEMENTS <br /> <br />Bus Transit: <br /> <br />The RTB's Five-Year Plan, prepared in 1993, has little relevance to the City of Ramsey <br />beyond provision of paratransit services. As a community that lies outside the Metropolitan <br />T~g District, Ramsey is not provided fzxed route transit services. Paratransit services <br />continue to be provided by the Anoka County Traveller Program.
