Ryan Schroeder, Sylvia Frolik, Jim Gromberg

FROM:
RE:

St~ven Schwanke and John Dietrich, RLK ASSOCIATES

City of Ramsey Land Use Plan
Memorandum No. 1
LaDd use issues associated
governments

with adjacent local

RLK Associates has completed a review of land uses and related
issues in cities and townships adjacent to the City of Ramsey. The
following issues have been identified based on this review.

City of Anoka. The City of Anoka has retained a
cohsultant to evaluate the land uses, subdivision
requirements and transportation facilities within the
An~ka Enterprise Park. The Enterprise Park is located
so~th of TH 116, east of the Ci['y of Ramsey and north of
THi 10. This study should be monitored due to the
residential land uses in the City of Ramsey north of TH
11~, and. possible industrial land uses in the City of
Anbka located south of TH 116. The future land
development activities at the intersection of TH 116 and
THE 47 should be closely monitored due to the potential
fo~ future commercial land use growth in the area.

Transportation access to and within the Anoka Enterprise
Pa~k should be reviewed by the City of Ramsey. The
ex~sting Thurston Ave. has the potential to carry a much
hi~her volume of commercial and industrial traffic.
Extension of McKinley Street west of Thurston Ave. to
Suhfish Lake Blvd NW has not been endorsed by Anoka but
could benefit the City of Ramsey as a north frontage road
fo~ TH 10, while also serving the Anoka Enterprise Park.

City of Champlin. The City of 'Champlin remains opposed
to~ any bridge in its community that crosses the
Mississippi River. The result of this is that the City
of~ Ramsey and the City of Dayton are the next likely
spQts for a river crossing.

· Civil Engineering .Transportation .
