Councilmember Cook aye <br />Councilmember Zimme~Tnan aye <br />Councilmember Pearson aye <br />Mayor Gamec aye <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />2) Appoint Commissioner to the Planning Commission <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution #03-10-285 <br />appointing David Jeffrey to i511 the seat on the Planning Commission for a term that expires <br />December 31, 2004. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Garnet, and Councilmembers Cook, Kurak, Elvig, Pearson, <br />Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />3) Authorize Hiring of Building Official <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that that the City Council adopt Resolution #03-10-286 <br />authorizing the hiring of Mick Kaehler for the position of full-time Building Official at a starting <br />wage of $63,360, plus benefits and three weeks vacation, contingent upon successful completion <br />of background checks, employment physical, and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Zimmerman inquired as to who his immediate supervisor <br />would be. Human Resources Manager Reed replied that Community Development Director. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting "/es: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Pearson, Kurak, Cook, Elvig, <br />Strommen, and Zimmerman.
