Councilmember Backous stated he knows we have $32,000 waste, guaranteed, so he did not <br />have a problem reducing the budget by that amount. <br />Councilmember Tossey expressed agreement. <br />Councilmember Strommen stated she agrees with the goal but we still have an issue of how to <br />fund the street maintenance program longer range. We have not solved that problem — let' s be <br />honest about what's on the table. <br />Mayor Ramsey mentioned assessments. <br />Councilmember Strommen argued that that is coming out of the same pocket. <br />Councilmember McGlone felt that Council is working on it. <br />Councilmember Tossey stated we are trying to look at how we can all share with this expense. <br />He felt that we should maintain the tax levy for this year. <br />Councilmember Backous stated that we could knock one -third of this amount out of the budget <br />by giving up food for meetings. <br />3.1 Review Future Topics /Calendar <br />It was noted that road reconstruction should come back for discussion at the work session level <br />and that the Metro Transit Taxing Agreement should be on the next agenda. <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL /STAFF INPUT <br />None. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Councilmember Tossey, seconded by Councilmember Backous to adjourn the Work <br />Session meeting. <br />The Work Session of the City Council was adjourned at 6:57 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Kurds G.
