CITY OF AMS Y POSITION ANALYSIS <br />POSITION TITLE: Finance Director <br />DEPARTMENT: Finance <br />POSITION TITLE OF <br />IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: City Administrator <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br />The primary objective of this position is to oversee, analyze, and recommend the <br />compilation, preparation, and implementation of overall financial operations, financial plans, <br />budgets, accounting systems, expenditures, and investments in accordance with local, State <br />and Federal regulations. Provide risk management services to avoid or minimize potential <br />liabilities to the City. <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />A. Assist in the management operations of jurisdiction. <br />B. Perform financial activities and financial accounting. <br />C. Supervise and direct finance department staff. <br />D. Define and administer proposals, agreements, and contracts /leases. <br />E. Develop and recommend a finance budget program. <br />F. Perform communication activities. <br />G. Design, compose and edit material. <br />H. Process and document information. <br />I. Provide risk management services. <br />J. Perform other duties as assigned (within the ability and resources of the Finance Director) <br />at the verbal or written direction of the City Administrator. <br />TASKS RELATED TO RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />A. Assist in the management operations of jurisdiction. <br />Assist with governing board policy development. <br />2. Assist with compiling, preparing, and recommending capital improvement <br />program. <br />3. Identify and obtain funding (grants, donations). <br />B. Perform financial activities and financial accounting. <br />1. Develop financial plans, controls, and systems. <br />2.
