KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br />Knowledge of fire suppression and prevention techniques. <br />Knowledge of working relationships with state, county, and regional agencies. <br />Knowledge of the political process a. d public involvement techniques. <br />Knowledge of current state and local codes relating to fire issues. <br />Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats. <br />Ability to provide supervision to department staff. <br />Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, including making presentations to <br />elected officials and the public. <br />Ability to build consensus among diverse groups. <br />Ability to exercise good judgment. <br />Ability to effectively el use problem solving techniques. <br />Ability to make decisions, enforce polices in a consistent manner, and issue directives, even <br />when unpopular. <br />TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: <br />Minimum Qualifications: <br />Shall have successfully completed state certification requirements fire fighters, i.e Fire Fighter I <br />and 11. Some post - secondary education or three years of fire department experience. Three years <br />of fire command experience. Certification as a Hazardous Materials Technician. Some level of <br />Fire Code training. First Responder certification. 'food written and verbal communication <br />skills. Valid class D state driver's license with a good driving record. Some formal supervisory <br />experience and training.
