POSITION 1 TITLE: <br />DEPAIITMENT: <br />POSITION TITLE OF <br />IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: <br />FLSA STATUS: <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />CITY OF RAMSEY POSITION ANALYSIS <br />City Engineer <br />Public Works <br />Public Works Director <br />Exempt <br />Under the general direction of the Public Works Director, review and oversee functions of new <br />and redevelopment projects and oversee work on consultant designed and in -house designed <br />public works projects. Assure that public improvements and private developments (residential <br />and commercial) to applicable engineering standards, ordinance requirements and policy <br />guidelines. Assume responsibility for daily work direction and quality control of the Engineering <br />Division. Supervise Assistant City Engineer, Civil Engineer II and Engineering Technicians. <br />A. Provide professional engineering counsel, design and review. <br />B. Supervise the overall design, planning and management of improvement projects. <br />C. Lead efforts to fully utilize Geographic Information Services in support of department <br />objectives. <br />D. Supervise the engineering technicians in their performance of tasks related to commercial <br />and residential inspections. <br />E. Implement a communications plan to inform residents of on -going construction/improvement <br />projects. <br />F. Perform other duties as assigned at the verbal or written direction of the Public Works <br />Director. <br />TASKS RELATED TO RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />A. Provide professional engineering counsel, design and review. <br />1. Review preliminary and final plats, commercial site plans, preliminary utility plans, <br />grading plans, construction plans, drawings, and specifications submitted by <br />consultants, engineers and developers to determine whether they conform to City <br />comprehensive plans, guidelines, policies, ordinances, and engineering standards. <br />2. Oversee the development of a computer based mapping system. <br />3. Maintain and update information on mapping system and database within a reasonable <br />time from date of information change. <br />4.
