Absent: Commissioners Hendriksen and Terry. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Thorud to recommend that City <br />Council approve Mr. Craig Johnson's request for a conditional use permit for an auto repair <br />business on the property at 17600 Gibbon Street N.W. <br /> <br />Further discussion. Commissioner Bawden recalled that City Council has denied previous <br />requests for auto repair businesses that were proposed to be located in the residential area, but on <br />major thoroughfares and in close proximity to commercial zoning. Chairman Zimmerman stated <br />that he believes limiting the number of vehicles for repair on the site to two, and the neighborhood <br />support for Mr. Johnson's request are the determining factors in this case. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Thomd and LaDue. Voting <br />No: Bawden and Deemer. Absent: Commissioners Hendriksen and Terry. <br /> <br />Commissioner Deemer stated that granting this conditional use permit will set a precedent. <br /> <br />Case #7; Proposed 1991 Planning and Zoning Commission Budget. <br /> <br />The Commission noted the Proposed 1991 Budget. <br /> <br />STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />a) Zoning Changes <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik reported that City staff is continuing to work on proposed zoning changes in the City. <br /> <br />b) Appointments to Bonding Committee <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik indicated that City Council is looking for two appointees from the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission to serve on the Bonding Committee. The Commission appointed Chairman <br />Zimmerman and Commissioner Terry to serve on the Bonding Committee. <br /> <br />c) Request for Special Meeting <br /> <br />Ms. Frolik noted that Ramsey Investments is requesting a special meeting of the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission to review a site plan. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Thorud to schedule a special <br />Planning and Zoning Commission meeting for Thursday, August 23, 1990 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Thorud, Deemer, Bawden <br />and LaDue. Voting No: None.
