Commissioner Deemer indicated that if Mr. Delaney feels that he can better identify the location of <br />business as Anoka, then he should be approaching Anoka for his conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner LaDue to add an item to the <br />proposed conditional use permit requiring the permit holder to identify the kennel and any other <br />commercial use on the property as being located in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Motion failed. Voting Yes: Commissioners LaDue and Deemer. Voting No: Vice-Chairman <br />Hendriksen, Commissioners Thorud, Terry and Bawden. Absent: Chairman Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Thorud and seconded by Commissioner Bawden to recommend that the <br />City Council approve Mr. Charles Delaney's request for a conditional use permit as amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice-Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners LaDue, Bawden, <br />Deemer, Terry and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Mr. Delaney explained to the Commission that his operation has provided a lot of publicity for <br />Ramsey, but he doesn't feel the community should put the burden on him to promote the City's <br />identity. Mr. Delaney added that he is receptive to the idea of a joint venture between the kennels <br />and the City of Ramsey to promote the City's identity and location. <br /> <br />Case # 4: <br /> <br />Request for a Conditional Use Permit for g Home Occupation to <br />Operate a Retail Trophy/Plaque Business in the R1 Urban Residential <br />District: Case of Steven Haigh. <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Steven Haigh were present requesting a conditional use permit for a home <br />occupation to operate a retail trophy and plaque business in their home at 14151 Geranium Street <br />N.W. Mr. Haigh submitted a petition to the Planning and Zoning Commission signed by 35 <br />households in the area indicating no objection to Mr. Haigh's request. <br /> <br />The Commission proceeded to review the proposed Findings of Fact. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Terry and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to amend Item #12 of the <br />proposed Findings of Fact to indicate that the proposed use will increase traffic to the subject <br />property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice-Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners LaDue, Bawden, <br />Deemer, Terry and Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Bawden and seconded by Commissioner Terry to amend Item #13 of the <br />proposed Findings of Fact to indicate that the proposed use will not be unduly dangerous to <br />persons residing in the vicinity. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Vice-Chairman Hendriksen, Commissioners LaDue, Bawden, <br />Deemer, Terry and Thorud. Voting No: None.
